How to Accurately Measure for Your Wedding Gown:

Getting the right fit starts with knowing your correct measurements. Bridal sizing is different from everyday clothing sizes, so taking accurate measurements is essential when selecting or ordering your wedding dress.

1. bust

Measure around the fullest part of your bust while wearing a non-padded bra. Keep the tape comfortably snug, not tight.

2. waist

Measure around the smallest part of your waist—typically just above your belly button and below your rib cage.

3. hips

Measure around the fullest part of your hips and buttocks, standing with your feet together.

important tips:

  • Have someone assist you for the most accurate results.

  • Stand straight but relaxed while being measured—don’t suck in or tighten your posture.

  • Always measure over thin clothing or undergarments similar to what you’ll wear on your wedding day.

  • If your measurements fall between sizes, it’s usually safer to size up. It’s much easier to take a dress in than to let it out!
